Gathering cuttings

Posted on 25th Aug 2012 at 3:14 PM from Manchester

It's strange how a small event like sitting out on my mother's patio working can have such far reaching changes. Firstly I made the important decision to change my garden which has been happening steadily. But I also find myself admiring other people's gardens lots more.

But there has been another more surprising change. Each time I take the dog out for a walk I seem to come back with some berries or a cutting or similar.

This morning I was out with Patch and picked these berries and am now going to plant them and see if I can get them to grow. I only have a small garden and certainly do not want the huge tree that these have the potential to turn into so I shall plant them in a pot to limit the size and keep it under control.

The simple act of sitting on my mother's patio, deciding that I want a similar environment for myself and committing to pay the price to make it happen is bringing about results already. But it is has resulted in an unexpected new interest and one which for now I am thoroughly enjoying.
